It’s All In the Eyes

I have not been able to shake the mental image from the last post – that of keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, and not on the waves and the storm.  If our thoughts and our mental “eyes” are truly fixed on Jesus, everything else falls out of the picture – every hindrance, fear, doubt, distraction, evil thought, discouragement, and anything else that would keep us from moving forward. The simple act of turning our thoughts to Him whenever we are facing internal mental & spiritual struggles will immediately quell the storm.  And when we our feet are finding themselves like stone, unable to take the steps that we know we were created to take, lifting our heads and our eyes to Jesus will most assuredly create a fire that melts the stone and propels us forward.

1 Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest. – Hebrews 3
